Senior Accountant / Finance Manager
Location: Sydney Olympic Park - on-site parking
Work Type: Full-time | 3 days in office / 2 days WFH
Salary: $130,000 + Super
We're partnering with a growing business to recruit a Senior Accountant / Finance Manager into a newly created role within an expanding finance function. This is a broad, hands-on position offering strong exposure across financial and management accounting, with the opportunity to influence processes, reporting, and decision-making as the business scales.
You'll report into a highly supportive manager in a collaborative and down-to-earth environment, making this an ideal step-up opportunity for a strong Senior Accountant looking to broaden their scope.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Statutory Accounting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end close, including journals, accrals, and reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
Management Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver accurate and insightful management accounts
- Produce board packs and performance reports with clear commentary
- Conduct variance analysis to support business understanding and performance tracking
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Manage re-forecasting processes in line with business performance
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with strategic goals
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee BAS and GST preparation and lodgements
- Support external audits and liaise with advisors where required
Commercial & Decision Support
- Provide financial insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Partner with non-finance stakeholders to drive business performance
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
About You
- CA or CPA qualified
- 2-3+ years post-qualification experience
- Strong technical accounting foundation with exposure to management reporting
- Commercially minded with the ability to translate numbers into insights
- Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders across the business
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a growing/changing environment
