AI Engineer
We're partnering with a leading Australian organisation looking to bring on a Lead AI Engineer to build production AI hands-on. This is a deeply technical role for an engineer who leads through code rather than management, owning the design and delivery of agentic and GenAI systems from prototype to production.
The Opportunity
- Build and ship production AI systems hands-on using agentic frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph
- Develop GenAI capabilities including RAG pipelines, vector search and embeddings, and copilot-style integrations across the product
- Own delivery end to end, writing the code, diagnosing production issues and architecting the solution
- Productionise models with proper monitoring, retraining and operational reliability
- Establish MLOps patterns that let AI ship safely and at pace
- Integrate AI across data lakes and APIs in a mixed legacy and cloud-native environment
- Lead through technical depth, setting engineering standards and lifting the capability of the team around you
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on engineering background, someone who is in the code daily and wants to stay there
- Deep capability building production AI across agentic frameworks, GenAI, RAG, vector search and embeddings
- Solid MLOps covering deployment, monitoring, retraining and operational reliability
- Strong software engineering foundations across AWS and cloud-native architecture
- Comfortable owning delivery end to end, from architecture through to production support
- Experience integrating AI across data and API layers
